The Elizabethton Star has learned that Eastman Credit Union is announcing plans to bring its first full-service branch location to Elizabethton.

The announcement came Friday morning in a letter sent to ECU members by Kelly Price, President & CEO of Eastman Credit Union.

The letter indicates that ECU will establish its branch location on property it has purchased at the corner of West Elk Avenue and Williams Avenue — a location near Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

Price told members ECU looks forward to being Elizabethton’s “neighbor” and when an official groundbreaking date is decided, an announcement will be made to the community.

No other details or construction timeline has been announced.
