Indian Trail boys, Hunter girls win Johnson City Eye Clinic Tournament

Pearson Harrison scored 21 points to lead Indian Trail to the Johnson City Eye Clinic, Carter County Sports Hall of Fame Christmas Tournament Championship. Brooklyn Campbell scored 11 points to lead the Hunter Tigers to their second Christmas Tournament title, beating Little Milligan 33-10. The trail was behind by six points at the half 19-13, but a strong third quarter lifted them to a 43-29 win. Tommy Needham led the Buffalos with 13 points, including three three-point shots.
Indian Trail also won the JV tournament with a win over Little Milligan, In the girl’s action, Happy Valley finished third in both boys and girls and Hunter boys finished fourth. Carter County Sports Hall of Fame would like to thank Johnson City Eye Clinic for sponsoring the tournament, and Pizza Inn and Pizza Hut for supplying food for the hospitality room. Rick Anderson for drawing up the brackets and keeping teams and coaches up to date on changes. Jarfly Dugger, Lyndsey Collins and Cayden Anderson, along with J.R. Campbell for their help during the tournament. Also, a special thanks to David Jones for running the clock and keeping the games on time, Elizabethton Park and Rec and Herb Greenlee and his officials for doing a great job controlling the games.
