Elizabethton Police Department Chief Jason Shaw on Tuesday announced the promotion of Eric Buck to the rank of Sergeant.
Buck will continue to serve the department in the patrol division.
Sergeant Buck is a 24-year veteran of law enforcement. He began his career in 1998 at the Carter County Sheriff’s office as a corrections deputy, then worked as a patrol deputy and a patrol sergeant.
He then came to the Elizabethton Police Department in 2009, where he worked as a patrol officer and patrol corporal.
Buck has been one of the department’s field training officers and has been involved in the training of many new officers during his time with the EPD.
“I look forward to his taking on this formal role as supervisor,” Shaw said. “With his knowledge and experience on the job, he has been a leader at the department for a long time.”
