Wilma Love Blackwell, 81, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away at Hermitage Health Center on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. Wilma was born in Carter County to the late William and Edith (Troutman) Street. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Henry Blackwell.
Wilma retired from Elizabethton Glass Company and had previously worked at East Tennessee Mills. She attended Burbank Free Will Baptist Church and was a loving woman who would rather give than to receive. She loved spending time with her grandson, Cole. Wilma was an excellent cook and was always smiling. She enjoyed shopping and traveling.
Left to cherish her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Tabitha Blackwell, and a grandson, Cole Blackwell, all of Elizabethton. Several brothers and sisters also survive.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Wilma Love Blackwell will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 4, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Luther McKeehan, a family friend, officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 2:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
