Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Casey Cowden, 35, of Gray, on Nov. 22 and charged him with forgery, identity theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, theft over $2,500 and theft over $500.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, back in early October, Cowden used his father’s personal information to open two different credit cards without the father’s consent or knowledge. Investigators from the WCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division discovered that Cowden used the cards to charge a large amount of purchases totaling approximately $4,000. A warrant was issued by Investigators for Cowden, and he was located and arrested by deputies this week. His bond was set at $5,000 and his initial appearance was at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sessions Court.
