The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating complaints of assaults on multiple students at Daniel Boone High School.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, WCSO became aware of the alleged assaults on Nov. 7 when two separate parents filed reports alleging harassment and physical assaults by multiple student members of the school’s football team. The assaults reportedly occurred on school grounds while the football players were left unsupervised.
“This investigation is currently active and the public can be assured that if evidence shows that any adults or juveniles have committed a criminal act, charges will be filed immediately,” Sexton said.
Due to this being an ongoing investigation and in the interest of the rights of the juvenile victims, no further details will be released at this time.
In the interest of transparency and due to the sensitive nature of this investigation, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been brought in to assist the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
