JCPD arrest Juvenile for November 7 shooting

On November 10, at approximately 2:30 a.m., investigators with the Johnson City Police Department arrested a juvenile in connection to the shooting that occurred in the 500 block of Washington Ave. on November 7. The juvenile was charged with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony, and handgun possession by a juvenile.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the juvenile shot at the victim after the victim exited the vehicle the two occupied. The victim was not struck by the gunfire. During the investigation, the identity of the juvenile was confirmed.
The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Upper East Tennessee Juvenile Detention Center. The juvenile’s next court date is pending.
