Terry Lee Smith, 67, of Erwin, Tenn., went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Johnson City Medical Center. Terry was born in Elizabethton, Tenn., to the late Lloyd and Ruth Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Bowling) Smith.
Terry retired as a millwright and was of the Christian faith. He was also a volunteer fireman in the Stoney Creek Community.
Terry enjoyed meeting his friends for breakfast, loved Dr. Enuf, football and spent a lot of time in Aruba. He loved traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish Terry’s memory include his grandchildren, Justin (Mekesha) Bowling, Cody Bowling and Adelaie Bowling; his great-grandchildren, Logan Bowling, Luna Harris, Broncs Harris, Briley Bowling, Aislynn Bowling and Cayden Bowling; his brothers, Jeff Smith and Harry Smith; his aunt, Joyce Milan; and his cousins, Bobby Burrow and Lisa Burrow.
A graveside service to celebrate Terry’s life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, November 7, in the Wilson Cemetery in the Stoney Creek Community of Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Shoun, Melvin Estep and Tommy Campbell. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Monday. Our family would like to thank the staff and doctors of Johnson City Medical Center for the exceptional care shown to Terry during his illness.
