High-speed crash takes the life of both occupants of vehicle

A single-vehicle crash takes the life of a driver and passenger on Thursday morning.
Officers of the Johnson City Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on N. Roan St. at the intersection of Bristol Hwy. The investigation revealed that a Dodge SUV was traveling north on N. Roan St. at a high rate of speed, ran off the roadway at the intersection of Bristol Hwy. and crashed into the building of the Roadrunner Market, 2900 N. Roan St. The vehicle was occupied by a driver and passenger, who were both pronounced dead at the scene. The Roadrunner Market structure received substantial damage.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Johnson City Police Department Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team.
