Shirley Rose McNeil, 63, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was the daughter of Constance Hope McNeal and the late Noble Thomas McNeal.
Sandra was a loving mother and nana who loved life. She enjoyed being goofy, being outdoors and spending time with her grandbabies and her dog. Shirley attended God’s House Full Gospel Church.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Hope Hicks; grandson, Bradley Hicks; and fur-baby, Tinkerbell.
Those left to cherish her memory are her fur-baby, Eden Mohawk McNeil; daughter, Melinda Jean Sparks; son, Tommy Jack “TJ” Hicks; grandchildren, Ashley Necole Sparks, Michael Glenn Hicks, Amanda Shae Hicks and Bentley Wayne Hicks; and sisters, Donna Hopkins, Helen Hummer, Melissa McNeal and Christine Gray. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-grandchildren also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Shirley Rose McNeil will be held at 1 p.m. Monday October 31, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Jerry Davis officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. A private disposition will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be chosen from family and friends with Anthony Hopkins serving as honorary pallbearer. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to The Carter County Animal Shelter, 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
