Basketball fans are excited as games are right around the corner and an early look at the girls’ programs in the Big 5 and Upper Lakes Conference will be showcased at Elizabethton High School starting at 6 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 8, inside John Treadway Gymnasium.
The night will tip off as Unicoi County and West Ridge take the court at 6 pm. The Lady Blue Devils will be looking to re-establish themselves as a contender in the Upper Lakes Conference this season. West Ridge will embark on its second season as a basketball program after combining the programs at Sullivan South, Sullivan North, and Sullivan Central.
At 6:30 pm, the Tennessee High Lady Vikings will square off with the Dobyns-Bennett Lady Indians as the contest features two successful programs over the years.
The next contest will feature two teams that have been successful not only during regular season play but also at tournament time, as the Science Hill Lady Hilltoppers and the Sullivan East Lady Patriots will square off to showcase two teams that love to run and fire up the threes.
Volunteer and Daniel Boone will take the floor at 7:30 as both teams have been moving toward the top of their conferences over the last few years.
And to cap off the night, the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones will be squaring off with David Crockett Lady Pioneers.
The Lady Cyclones come into the season with high expectations after reaching the state tournament in 2021 and will be tested by a very good David Crockett Lady Pioneer team that has been surging as well under the leadership of former Happy Valley Lady Warrior coach Thomas Gouge.
Admission for the jamboree is $5 and concessions will be available.
