Leonard “Keith” Benfield

Elizabethton- Leonard “Keith” Benfield, 71, went to be with the Lord, October 16, 2022, after a long courageous fight with cancer and heart disease.
He was a retired 50-year member of Boilermaker’s Local #83 of Kansas City, Kansas.
Keith loved talking and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his fur babies, Elijah and Ollie, riding his motorcycle, camping, talking to friends, and sitting on the porch watching the wildlife and the rolling river.
Keith was a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church, and also attended Lynn Valley Baptist Church when his health permitted.
Survivors include:  his wife, Barbara; his children, Holly Channon (Michael) of Moline, Illinois, Jennifer Carr (Steven) of Elizabethton, TN, Jacob Benfield of Port Neches, Texas, and Bob Norris (Shae) of Elizabethton, TN; his mother, Betty; his brothers, Gregory (Robin) and Robert (Mary); his grandchildren, Zachary, Avarie, Emily, Justin, Jesse, Madison, Bailey; and his great-grandchildren, Jazzy, Skylar, A.J. and Peyton; his Aunt Pidge; and several cousins, nephews, nieces and special friends, George Baldwin and Kenneth Loveless also survive.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Benfield; two infant daughters; his grandparents, Jenny and Gordon Peters, Floyd P. and Elda Ollis Benfield.
Our family wishes to thank Dr. Jamal Maatouk and the staff of the Kingsport Cancer Center, Dr. Siv, Dr. Rita Plemmons, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, Amedysis Health Care, Amedysis Hospice, and all the nurses, CNAs, and techs that have walked the walk with Keith.  We are so thankful for our many friends and neighbors who have been there for us.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Leonard “Keith” Benfield will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend Steve Burleson, officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Thursday.
