Bands from Carter County and surrounding areas took over Citizens Bank Stadium for a marching band competition this past weekend.
The 1st Annual Elizabethton Classic, hosted by the Elizabethton High School Band, took place on Saturday with 14 schools participating.
Gates opened at 1:30 and after welcoming everyone and the National Anthem, the marching band competition kicked off at 2:40 p.m.
Listed below are the Classification and the schools that participated:
• Class 1A, Unaka, Cloudland and Hampton
• Class 2A, Johnson County, South Greene, Chucky-Doak and Pigeon Forge
• Class 3A, Lee, Happy Valley and Sullivan East
• Class 4A, John Battle and Ridgeview
• Class 5A, West Ridge and Science Hill
Trophies and plaques were given out to the winners of each class.
The Betsy Band did an exhibition but did not participate in the competition since they were the host.
