A Greeneville man was arrested Thursday after items were stolen from a job site on Dark Hollow Road in Fall Branch.
WCSO charged Jody P. Shuffler, 52 of Greeneville, with theft of property over $1,000, two counts of reckless endangerment and criminal trespassing.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, workers at the job site observed a man enter the area by vehicle and take over $1,000 in materials on Thursday morning. When the workers confronted the man, he fled in the vehicle with two passengers inside. The vehicle fled the scene in a very reckless manner as witnesses tried to follow in order to alert law enforcement of their location. The vehicle was eventually stopped by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Washington County Investigators responded to the scene.
As a result of the investigation, Shuffler is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 14. Investigators also recovered multiple catalytic converters and power tools in the vehicle Shuffler was operating and advised this investigation is still active.
This investigation is still active and additional charges are pending.
