On Thursday, September 15, 2022, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Terry Parks Church, of the Poga Community in Butler, Tenn., took her Lord and Savior’s hand and entered into eternal rest after a valiant battle with cancer at the age of 66.
Terry was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Parks; her father, Marvin Parks; her sister, Rosa Lee “Rosie” Parks; and two sons, Len and Donnie McNair.
Terry was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in taking care of her family, whether by cooking or just spending the day passing time with them. She also loved the Lord and living in his faith and we are assured to once again join her one day. A hard working woman with a wonderful work ethic, Terry was a dedicated employee of IRC in Boone, N.C., until the company closed and moved away in 2013; she was known as a true asset to her employer and to her community.
Those left to cherish Terry’s memory include her beloved husband, Brian Church; three sons, John McNair of Virginia Beach, Steve and Jacob Church, both of the Poga Community; the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Eli, Dayanara, Autumn and Kaylan Church; her sister, Cathy Parks and son Ross, both of Johnson City, Tenn.; her very special friend, Amanda Townsend; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, past work friends and neighbors who will miss her tremendously.
In true Terry form, she gave all she had until the end by becoming an organ donor with Restore Life USA, a final gift to someone in need.
No services are currently scheduled but a future memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
