The Carter County Sheriff’s Department has arrested Brandon Carrier, the man sought as a person of interest in the case of his missing wife.
The arrest, on an outstanding warrant charging him with a probation violation, was confirmed Tuesday by the sheriff’s department. No further details were released.
Carrier, 40, was sought for questioning after the remains of his wife, Shannon Marie Issacs, were found in a burned out car in the 200 block of Dry Branch Road on Aug. 23. She had been reported missing earlier that day after failing to pick up her children from school.
The remains have been sent to the University of Tennessee Forensic Anthropology Center to establish a positive identification and additional analysis.
