Planet Fitness celebrates first anniversary of Elizabethton Club

As part of the celebration of the first anniversary of Planet Fitness in Elizabethton, a raffle was held with the grand prize being an inflatable paddle board. Other prizes were to be given away on Thursday, Sept. 15.

Shelly Parham from the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County takes a moment to read a letter of thanks for the donation to the staff of Elizabethton’s Planet Fitness from one TA Dugger student who spends time after school at the club.
Planet Fitness hosted a celebration on Wednesday to commemorate the first anniversary of its club’s opening in Elizabethton.
Joining the staff were local officials, community leaders, and others. In addition to raffles and give-aways, the local staff presented a $500 check to the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County.
Those in attendance were Amanda Knight, Planet Fitness Regional Manager in Tennessee; Patty Woodby, Carter County Mayor; State Rep. John Holsclaw; Joy McCray, Executive Director – Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce; Caroline Chinouth, County Director – Carter & Johnson County Health Departments; representatives from the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County; State Sen. Rusty Crowe; Regional Manager for Planet Fitness in Tennessee Amanda Knight; local General Manager for Planet Fitness Kelvin McLeod, and Planet Fitness staff and members.
McLeod said the local club, located at 791 W. Elk Ave., has more than 3,300 members.
