Sherry Paulette (Oliver) Barnett, 66, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 12, 2022. Sherry was born in Elizabethton on January 31, 1956 to the late Paul and Emma Jane Fulton Oliver. In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mae Fulton.
Sherry was a loving woman and a wonderful homemaker. She was a member of Prayer Tabernacle for as long as she could remember. She enjoyed playing games on her phone but most of all she was wild about her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 45 years, Mike Barnett, of the home; her son, Michael L. Barnett and wife Alma of Elizabethton; her grandchildren, Paul Barnett, Patrick Barnett and Raina DeJoodie, all of Elizabethton; her brother, Jerry L. Oliver and wife Patricia of Elizabethton; and two nephews, Noah and Travis Oliver. Several other extended family and friends also survive.
A service to celebrate and honor Sherry’s life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Mack Presnell officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 1 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
