Jerri Lynn Marsh Young, 53, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 5, 2022, at her residence. Jerri was born in Marietta, Ga., the daughter of Jerry Cline Marsh and Linda Gail (Cross) Marsh of Bristol, Tenn.
Jerri was preceded in death by her only son, Derek Smidt.
Jerri enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful mom, daughter and grandma and loved being a homemaker and welcoming family and friends into her home.
Those left to cherish Jerri’s memory include her parents, Jerry and Linda Marsh; her three daughters, Ashley (Jeremy) Shaffer of Bristol, Tenn., Kristina Smidt and Shannon Smidt, both of Elizabethton, Tenn.; her pride and joy, her eight grandchildren; her brother, Timothy Marsh of Montana; and several nieces and nephews along with many friends and neighbors who were like extended family to her.
A celebration of Jerri’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Gene Fleenor officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the service starting at 2 p.m. Saturday. The service for Jerri will be livestreamed from the chapel.
