On August 16, 2022, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Roy Killion of Johnson City, TN for Theft of Property Over $10,000, Theft of Property Over $2,500 (motor vehicle), Burglary, Attempted Theft of property, Worthless checks, and theft of property over $10,000. Jessica Killion of Jonesborough, TN was arrested and charged with Worthless checks, and Theft of Property over $10,000.
Officers received a report of a stolen vehicle from Wallace Imports that had been purchased with a worthless check. During the investigation, investigators were advised that Roy Killion, and Jessica Killion had purchased a 2011 Toyota Corolla with a personal check. The check was returned for being on a closed account. Further investigation Roy Killion was developed as a suspect in a theft from Marc’s Carwash where he gained entry into the coin machines. On August 16, 2022, Roy Killion, and Jessica Killion was located and transported to the Johnson City Police Department. Roy Killion admitted to the thefts and it was later discovered that Roy Killion, and Jessica Killion were staying in an RV that was reported stolen on August 7, 2022.
They were subsequently transported to the Washington County Detention Center. Roy Killion is being held in lieu of an $18,000 bond. Jessica Killion is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. Arraignment was on August 16, 2022, in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On August 26, 2022, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Ronald Haren (41 years old, Johnson City, TN) and charged him with Identity Theft and Theft of Property under $1,000. The arrest resulted from several fraudulent transactions being reported in Johnson City. The victim alleged that over 30 fraudulent transactions were placed on his debit card. Investigation revealed that Ronald Haren had been using the card without consent.
Haren was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center. He is being held on a $2,500 bond. An arraignment was on August 29 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On August 27, 2022, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested George Traver, of Johnson City, on felony charges associated with threats and display of a firearm.
On August 26, 2022, at 8:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to 3211 Mayfield Dr. in reference to a neighbor making threats while displaying a handgun. The investigation revealed Traver threatened to kill two of his neighbors while pointing a gun in their direction. A warrant for his arrest was subsequently obtained.
The arrest warrant was then served and Traver was placed under arrest on two counts of aggravated assault. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond. Arraignment was on August 29 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On August 29, 2022, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested James Henderson of Johnson City, TN and charged him with domestic aggravated assault.
At 11:59 p.m. on August 29, 2022, officers were dispatched to an address off Claude Simmons Rd regarding a Domestic Assault. Officers collected a detailed account from the victim, who stated he was confronted by Henderson at 1106 Miller St. The victim said Henderson struck him in the head with a motorcycle helmet and bit him repeatedly. Officers observed injuries to the victim consistent with his account of the incident.
Henderson was placed under arrest for aggravated assault (domestic) and was subsequently booked into the Washington County Detention Center. He is being held in lieu of a $2,000 Bond. Arraignment was on August 30 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On August 30, 2022, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Elbert S. Lyons III and charged him with reckless aggravated assault.
The arrest comes as a result of an investigation into a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of August 28, 2022, at 418 Lee St. During the course of the investigation it was determined Lyons recklessly discharged a firearm at this location which resulted in the victim being shot in the foot.
Lyons was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond. Arraignment was on August 31, 2022, in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On August 31, 2022, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Erik Hyatt of Chandler, NC and charged him with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Driving on Suspended License 1st, Expired Registration, and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia
At approximately 8:30 am, Officers were conducting school zone traffic enforcement at Mountain View Elementary. A traffic stop was conducted on Hyatt’s vehicle due to an expired registration. Investigation revealed Hyatt’s driver’s license to be suspended. After consent was given for a search of the vehicle, officers located multiple items of drug paraphernalia and approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine in his possession.
Hyatt was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $2,500 bond. Arraignment was on September 1, 2022, in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On August 31, 2022, officers of the Johnson City Police Department, arrested Tenecia L. Carter of Johnson City and charged her with theft of property over $1,000.
The arrest occurred after officers responded to Bargain Hunt, 3110 Browns Mill Rd, in reference to an employee embezzling money from the business. Officers made contact with loss prevention employees who reported that Carter had obtained money from the business by conducting fraudulent refunds. The investigation revealed that she had completed multiple fraudulent returns over a span of 4 months.
Carter was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held in Lieu of a $2,500 bond. Arraignment was on September 1, 2022, in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On August 31, 2022, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Christopher Cody (31), for Theft of Property over $1,000.
Officers were dispatched to 2915 W Market St. on a theft of a cell phone. Upon arrival, I met with an employee of the business, and she stated that her iPhone was stolen sometime during her shift. The phone was tracked to the area of W Market St/ S North St. While patrolling that area, officers located Christopher Cody who later admitted to stealing the phone. The phone was found in the woods close to the intersection. Cody was placed into custody, and transported to the Washington County Detention Center. He is currently being held on a $3,000 bond, and is set to appear in court on September 2, 2022, at 01:30 pm.
