The Elizabethton Lady Cyclone volleyball team once again continued to struggle with their own worst enemy that stands before them in the mirror as Coach Leslie Bradley’s team saw another match go by the wayside against the Volunteer Lady Falcons inside John Treadway Gym Monday evening.
Elizabethton dropped a three-set match to the Lady Falcons – 25-23, 25-18, and 25-20, in which the Lady Cyclones were in each set before unforced errors allowed Volunteer to slip away in each.
“It’s the same thing that has been happening,” said Bradley. “We can coach certain things, but when the girls get these things in their heads, it’s hard to get that out. We actually played one of our better matches, but the errors proved costly.”
The loss dropped the Lady Cyclones season record to 4-6-0.
Senior Jayci Bowers led the Lady Cyclones with 15 defensive digs, 14 assists, and 1 kill. Junior Gracie Kirsch also played outstanding with 13 digs, 34 assists, and seven kills.
Libro Bailee VanHuss added 12 defensive digs.
The Lady Cyclones hosted Johnson County Tuesday evening and will be at home on Thursday against Providence Academy beginning at 5 p.m.
