A man mowing his yard was one of two people killed when a motorcycle crashed into a car and careened off the roadway Thursday afternoon.
The crash took place about 3:20 p.m. on Highway 91 at Price Road, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
James Ledford of Elizabethton was killed when he was struck by a motorcycle ridden by Billy Hilton Jr. of Elizabethton, who also died in the wreck.
According to a trooper’s report, Hilton’s motorcycle left the road after colliding with a GMC Arcadia driven by Alexis Perry of Elizabethton. Hilton was “thrown from the motorcycle hitting the side of the house,” the report states.
According to the report, both the motorcycle and the SUV were traveling northbound, with the motorcycle “traveling at a high rate of speed” behind the SUV. The motorcycle hit the SUV, then veered off the roadway.
