4-H Horticulture-Garden winners
Carabeth Chrisawn of Carter County was recently recognized as a Level I (9th and 10th grade) state winner in the horticulture/garden project at the Tennessee 4-H Roundup held at the University of Tennessee at Martin. From left to right are Jeff Aiken, Tennessee Department of Agriculture (donor); Mary Mantooth (donor); Betsy Mantooth (donor); Carabeth Chrisawn, Level I winner from Johnson City; Jamie Mantooth (donor); Bethany Polson, Level II winner from Crossville; Lydia Self, Level II winner from Madisonville; Melissa Henry (donor); and Natalie Bumgarner, UT Extension specialist. Carabeth Chrisawn received a specially crafted Horizon Award and $500 college scholarship.
4-H Vol State Award
Elissah Sizemore of Gray was one of 90 4-H members recently recognized with the Vol State award at the University of Tennessee at Martin during State 4-H Roundup. The Vol State award is the highest level of recognition a Tennessee 4-H member may achieve. The award is presented to high school juniors and seniors in recognition of excellence in all phases of 4-H work, as well as service and leadership rendered in their communities.
4-H Forestry, Wildlife, Fishery Awards
Elissah Sizemore of Gray was recently recognized as a Level II (11th and 12th grade) state winner in the forestry, wildlife and fisheries project at the Tennessee 4-H Roundup held at the University of Tennessee at Martin. From left to right are Jim Byford (silver bowl donor); Steve Sutton (Horizon Award donor), Mary Mantooth (donor); Elissah Sizemore, Level II winner from Gray; Landin Brock, Level II winner from Lenoir City; Samantha Robbins, Level I winner from Tellico Plains; Gabriel Harville, Level I winner from Pleasant Shade; Sharon Jean-Philippe, UT Extension specialist; Jamie Mantooth (donor) and Betsy Mantooth (donor). Elissah Sizemore received a silver bowl, $500 college scholarship and a trip to National 4-H Congress in Atlanta.
