Cyclone golf teams finish at the top

The Elizabethton girls and boys golf teams both finished at the top of the pack in a match played Monday at Elizabethton Golf Course.
Ashlynn Guy and Maylie Stout led the Lady Cyclones to a two-stroke win over Daniel Boone as the pair carded a match-low 93 to the Lady Blazers 95.
Guy shot a 46 and Stout a 47 on the day while Hannah McDonnell followed with a 49. Madison Holly finished with a round of 58 to round out the Lady Cyclones’ afternoon.
Boone’s Molly Greene shot a low round of 45 to take the medalist honor while teammate Zaylee Scheurman finished with a 50 to make up the team’s round of 95.
In boy’s play, Elizabethton and Volunteer finished deadlocked with a 168 while Daniel Boone carded out with a team score of 181.
Elizabethton’s Alex Gouge led all players with a match-low of 37 to take medalist honors for the day.
The Cyclones received a 40 from Dalton Sharp while Luke Campbell (43) and Conner Edmundson (45) finished out the team score.
Seth Whitehead (48) and Braxton Avery (51) rounded out the Cyclones’ team play for the day.
The Falcons of Volunteer were paced by Tucker McClain who fired a nine-hole total of 40. Austin Williams (42), Gabe Goode (43) and Briar Davis (43) made up the team score of 168. Carter Trent (45) and Cameron Cox (47) completed the Falcons’ day.
Austin Moody paced Daniel Boone with a round of 42 while Hudson Hatley finished with a 43. Dylan Side and Hayden Shrewsbury each carded out with a 48.
Griffin Erickson and Storm Hatley each recorded a round of 50 for Boone.
