Nancy Chase Johnson, 82, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Signature Health Care of Elizabethton, Tenn. She is joining those who went before her: the love of her life, Richard Irving Johnson; her parents, Jasper Chase and Myrtle Lyons; her sisters, Ruth Mitchell and Jo Ann Lyons; her special brothers-in-law, EJ Johnson and Paul Johnson; and her special mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruby and Ed Johnson.
Nancy was a loving mother and homemaker and spent 20 years as a CNA at Appalachian Christian Village where she cared for many souls.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Melissa Hughes (Arthur) of North Carolina, Susan Johnson and Tina Johnson of Elizabethton; grandchildren, Richard Lynn Johnson, Joseph Johnson and Artie Hughes; special granddaughter, Sara Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Mason Johnson, William Maynard and Richie Johnson. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles Chase (Faye), John Chase and Larry Chase (Glenda); her special sisters-in-law, Norma Jenkins, Phyllis (Dwight) Minton, Margie Parks and Carolyn (Mark) Slaughter; a special brother-in-law, Thomas Lynn Johnson (Barbara); a special niece, Paula Johnson; along with several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Nancy Chase Johnson will be conducted at noon Thursday, August 4, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Mark Street officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mike Presnell and Larry Chase. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Artie Hughes, Arthur Hughes, Dwight Minton, Mark Slaughter and Lynn Johnson. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 11:50 a.m. Thursday. The family gives special thanks to Debbie Street, Shon Blevins and all the staff at Signature Health Care for their loving care they provided over the past few months.
