On July 16, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Ashley N. Cable of Johnson City and charged her with felony possession of methamphetamine, introduction of contraband into a penal facility, simple possession of marijuana, two counts of unlawful drug paraphernalia, and improper display of registration.
At approximately 5:50 p.m. on July 16, officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Investigation during the traffic stop revealed that the driver, Cable, had concealed drug paraphernalia in her clothing leading to a search of her vehicle. Officers discovered marijuana and more paraphernalia inside her vehicle. Cable was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center. Once there, detention officers searched her and found that she had concealed two more bags on her person, both of which contained a white substance. The substance was field-tested, and it tested positive for methamphetamine.
Ashley Cable is being held at the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of an $18,000 bond. Her arraignment was Monday, July 18, in Washington County General Sessions Court.
