GULFPORT, Miss. — Mae Dell Rogers Canter died Friday, July 8, 2022, peacefully surrounded by her family. Mae Dell was born July 8, 1932, in Elizabethton, Tenn., to Roscoe H. and Helen Ruth Rogers.
Mae Dell lived a fulfilling life as a wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Mae Dell loved the outdoors, reading and sewing. She was an accomplished seamstress. She loved being a member of the Woolmarket Baptist Church and Ladies Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe H. and Helen Ruth Rogers; husband, Robert G. Canter; and sisters, Airlene Jarrell and Carleeta Christy.
She is survived by her son, Robert G. (Leslie) Canter II; grandson, Robert G. Canter III; granddaughter, Rachel M. (Randy) Lamey; great-granddaughter, Emma E. Lamey; and great-grandson, Logan W. Lamey.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 15, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS 39503, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport, Miss. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.kidneycan.org, The American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
