On July 7, at approximately 4:28 p.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Justin Paul, Johnson City, and charged him with credit card/ATM fraud: felony.
At approximately 3:58 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, officers responded to The Johnson City Mall located at 2011 N. Roan St. The victim advised that his stolen credit card was being used in the mall and that he had located the suspect using the card in Spencer’s. Officers made contact with Justin Paul and he admitted to using the card to buy items.
Police arrested Paul and transported him to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. Arraignment was on July 8 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On July 7 at 6:44 p.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Joshua Kegley of Fletcher, N.C., and charged him with burglary, theft of property and evading arrest. Officers originally responded to a shoplifting in progress. While en route, officers were informed Kegley had already shoplifted some items, and placed all the stolen merchandise in his car. An officer and loss prevention attempted to apprehend Kegley after seeing him shoplift again, however, he evaded officers on foot. Other responding officers apprehended Kegley inside another local store. It was later found that Kegley had previously been banned from Walmart in 2018. Kegley was placed under arrest and transported to Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $12,000 bond. Arraignment was on July 8 in Washington County Sessions Court.
