Shirley Mae Phillips Estep, 85, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Agape Nursing and Rehab Center, Johnson City. She was born September 10, 1936 in St. Charles, Va., to the late Floyd and Frances Hinkle Phillips. She had lived in Elizabethton for a number of years.
Shirley was retired from the USD Forest Service. She loved to work in her flowers and her garden. She was a member of Tiger Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lloyd Benson Estep, who passed away February 2, 2013; a son, Irving Estep; and a brother, Gerald Phillips.
Survivors include her children, Teresa Gail Campbell and Lloyd Estep Jr., both of Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Daniel Estep, Chelsey L. Campbell and Natalie Ann Estep; and one great-granddaughter, Kyleigh Campbell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, June 20, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
