Ricky Zeb Taylor, 68, Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2022 surrounded by family. Ricky’s life has always been filled with a lot of love for him. In his younger years he would walk up and down Stoney Creek and stop by many different homes to visit. Ricky knew a lot of people in those days and they treated him like family. He spent a lot of time at the Hunter Skating Rink and loved to play music on the jukebox. Ricky had a love for old rock and roll music. He had a love for money; everyone that knew him has given him a dollar or two. If you knew Ricky you knew his favorite color was red. Ricky loved to laugh and to have people joke with him. Ricky will be missed by his family and friends.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Zeb and Ruth Taylor; a brother, Hal Taylor; and a special brother-in-law who was a second father to him, Vernon Estep.
He is survived by his sister, who is a second mother and caregiver to him, Loretta “Ett” Estep, and brothers, Jerry Taylor and Paul Taylor. Ricky had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Some were raised as brothers and sisters to him, Marvin Estep, Debbie Davis, Melvin Estep, Marlene Steffey and Ruth Ann Richardson; and special niece, Brandy Estep McNeal. He is also survived by an extended Indiana family, Theresa Estep and her boys, Jeff, John and Michael.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Taylor Cemetery on Taylor Hollow Road with the Rev. Justin Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Chapel from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the Taylor family.
