Mrs. Cozie Ellen Hyder, Elizabethton, peacefully went to her heavenly home on June 6, 2022 at the home of her daughter, Judy Milhorn. She was born on Beech Mountain, N.C., to Joseph and Sarah Parlier on May 13, 1923. She had nine brothers and sisters. She moved to Elizabethton and married Fred Hyder Sr. on July 21,1945.
Mrs. Hyder was a member of Doe River Baptist Church. She loved to play checkers.
She is survived by daughter, Judy Milhorn and husband Byron; sons, Fred Hyder Jr. and wife Sandra and Joe Hyder and wife Judy; sister, Lou Martinelli; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held for Mrs. Hyder at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Greg Largent officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
