Four members of the T.A. Dugger girl’s track team exceeded expectations at the 2022 Class AA TMSAA State Track Meet at Franklin High School in Franklin as all four girls that competed reached the podium finishing in the top eight in the state.
As a team, the girls led TAD to an eighth-place finish overall in the state.
Liahna Nave finished second in the discus with a throw of 87-5.
Camdyn Garland brought home a sixth-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 4’8″ as well as a 12th place finish in the long jump with a jump of 14-2.75.
Brianna Watson captured sixth place in the shot put with a throw of 33-2.
Vella Nave finished in sixth place in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:30.23 while adding an 11th place finish in the 800M with a time of 2:36.
Watson’s shot put throw was the second-best throw of all sixth-graders in the competition while Vella Nave had the top time of any sixth-grader in the 1600 meters.
