Bill Greene honored

Local businessman William B. Greene Jr. received an honorary doctorate degree Saturday at the East Tennessee State University commencement. The degree was conferred by ETSU President Brian Noland, who recognized Greene as an "individual whose countless professional and personal accomplishments have made a significant impact on the lives of ETSU students, faculty, and staff, and those we serve....It would be difficult to image ETSU without his presence and without the programs and buildings for which he provided leadership. Prior to his retirement, Greene served as President of Carter County Bank and Bank of Tennessee. He is pictured wth Dr. Kim M. LeDugg, who addressed graduates at the afternoon ceremony.
