Anthony Dewey Shane Vines, 54, of Piney Flats, Tenn., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Johnson City Medical Center. Anthony was born in Carter County on March 9, 1968 to Billie Jean Sheppard of Elizabethton and the late Toney Vines.
Anthony enjoyed watching television programs such as The Price is Right and game shows in general. He also loved music and going out to eat with friends and his family.
Anthony will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Those left to cherish Anthony’s memory include his mother, Billie Jean Sheppard; his sisters, Jeannie (Tony) Street, Amy (Jon) Tucker, Alena (James) Bentley and Tara Ide; his special friends, Billy Roberts, David Dillman and Vickie Slemp; and his special caregivers at Core Services, Vonda Hill, Tori Hillman, Angela Harrison, Susan Heiser, Rachel Gosnell, RN, Naomi Gregory, Haylee Johnson and Kamaya Stallworth. Several nieces and nephews as well as many friends survive.
A service to celebrate Anthony’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Tyler Street and Rev. James Bentley officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Wilson Cemetery.
