HUDDLESTON, VA – Friday was a first in King University bass fishing history as Landon Lawson and Hunter McClaskey became the first Tornado duo to win a tournament.
The tandem won the Major League Fishing (MLF) College Series at Smith Mountain Lake.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lawson and McClaskey caught their limit of five fish, weighing in a total of 19 pounds, 15 ounces.

They weighed in nearly one pound more than second place and more than two pounds from third place.

Tyler Altizer and Dylan Thomson finished 12th as they caught their limit and weighed in 15 pounds, eight ounces.

Jabob Lovell and Maddy Phipps finished 15th, weighting in their limit of five fish for 14 pounds, 15 ounces.

The second place team of Matthew Echols and Paul Southern of Virginia Tech University weighed in 18 pounds.
