James Allen Watson, 61, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022, in Johnson City, Tenn.
Allen was born November 21, 1960, to James and Reba (Stover) Watson in Fairfield, Conn. On April 12, 1986, he married Carla Root (ex-wife). From this union, there are two children, Natasha Whiteside and her husband Andrew of Clarksville, Tenn., and Derek Watson of Johnson City, Tenn. Also, three grandchildren, Immanuel Ortega and Archer and Xander Whiteside.
Allen enjoyed grilling with his family, riding motorcycles, and being the life of the party. He worked as a general contractor and could fix anything. There was never a challenge he couldn’t overcome.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, James and Reba Watson, and his older brother, Michael Watson.
Other survivors include his brother, Donald (Angie) Watson; sisters, Lisa Watson, Gladys Glispie and Remell Watson; nephews, Dewayne Blevins, Robert Webster and Donayle Watson; nieces, Amber (Aron) Lamerson, Evon Franklin, Carmell Woods and Tonya (Michael) Stewart; great-nephews, Chase Blevins and Robert Webster Jr.; great-nieces, Addison McCoig, Amaya Watson and Aeriyana Webster; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for James Allen “Spook” Watson will be held at the Birchette Mortuary Chapel of Love on Friday, April 29, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to help cover funeral expenses. Donations to be made out to Natasha Whiteside, 492 Sheas Way, Clarksville, TN 37043.
