Richard F. Harrison, 57, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Richard was born in Crossnore, N.C., to the late Paul Wesley Harrison and Dessie Mae (Storie) Harrison. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Wesley Harrison Jr. “Buggie” and Terry Lee Harrison “Black Eyes.”
Richard was employed in the maintenance industry and was a United States Air Force veteran. He took great pride in his work and loved to cook. Richard was a very generous man who loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.
Those left to cherish Richard’s memory include three children, Nicole (Brandon) Birchfield of Elizabethton, Jonathon Harrison and Joshua Michael Harrison, both of Roan Mountain; two grandchildren, Sadie Love Harrison and Nicholas Elliot Crawford Potter; two sisters, Paula Potter of Florida and Patricia MacRae of Roan Mountain; and two brothers, Randy Harrison and Michael Harrison, both of Roan Mountain. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A gathering of remembrance for Richard will be conducted from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 20, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home of Roan Mountain. The family will hold a private disposition at a later time. The family would like to especially thank the staff, doctors and nurses at the James H.
