Ivan J. Younce, 92, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022, at his residence. He was born February 3, 1930 in Elizabethton to the late Edward and Cozette Troxell Younce.
Ivan was a retired construction worker. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved to golf, fish and go camping.
Ivan was a member of The Light House for Jesus. He was a faithful man of God all his life and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Lea Kyte Younce; a son, Rick Younce; three brothers, Sonny, Kenneth and Ed Younce; and one sister, Janet Wilson.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Kathy Dugger Younce; five children, Debbie Younce, Keith Younce, Karen Younce, Joseph Younce and wife Sarah and Diana Austin and husband Mark; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lynual Younce and wife Lois, Bill Younce and wife Shirley and Jack Younce and wife Ruth Ann; and two sisters, Phyllis Tester and husband Jimmy and Joyce Rumley and husband Rusty. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 3, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) with his brother, Pastor Bill Younce, officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be selected from family members.
