Hampton Middle boys open up 2021 season in a big way

The Hampton Middle School boys took to the floor in Coach Leon Tolley’s return as the head coach on Thursday night against the Central Comets and gave Tolley an impressive welcome back by defeating the Central Comets, 52-7.
The Jr. ‘Dogs bolted out to a 40-3 halftime advantage and never looked back in taking the win.
Connor McKinney and Jamie Turbyfill had the hot hand in the first half as they tallied 10 points apiece to give the Jr. ‘Dogs the edge.
Caden Davis and Dylan Campbell added seven and six points respectively in helping to build the lead for Hampton.
Central’s Carter Cornett connected on a three for the Comet’s only score of the half.
Hampton closed out the game by outscoring Central 12-4.
Campbell added six more points to his ledger to pace Hampton in the half with Turbyfill tallying four points.
For Central, Ty Johnson and Sean Baines scored two points apiece in the final half.
