The Elizabethton Star weekly recognizes the Player of the Week from the previous week’s games. The Week 11 standouts are as follows:
Cloudland High School
2021 Team
The Star of the Week for Cloudland is the 2021 football team that just wrapped up their regular-season campaign with a 9-1 record and won the Region 1 Class 1-A championship.
The Highlanders will open up the playoffs at home on Friday against Greenback.
Elizabethton High School
The Star of the Week for Elizabethton is the 2021 football team that just wrapped up their regular-season campaign with a 8-1 record and finished second in Region 1 Class 4-A. The Cyclones carry an impressive 38-1 record over the last three seasons of play.
Elizabethton will host Knox Carter in the opening game of the playoffs on Friday at 7 p.m.
Hampton High School
The Star of the Week for Hampton is the 2021 football team that just wrapped up their regular-season campaign with a 7-2 record while finishing in second place in Region 1 Class 2-A play behind South Greene.
The Bulldogs will open up the playoffs at home on Friday against Monterey at 7 p.m.
Happy Valley High School
The Star of the Week for Happy Valley is the 2021 football team that just wrapped up their regular-season campaign with a 2-8 record and finished fourth in Region 1 Class 2-A.
The Warriors opened the season under COVID but began playing some of their best football late in the season. Happy Valley travels to Rockwood on Friday night for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Unaka High School
The Star of the Week for Unaka is the 2021 football team that just wrapped up their regular-season campaign with a 7-3 record and finished second in Region 1 Class 1-A
The Rangers will open up the playoffs at home on Friday against Midway with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
