A dedication ceremony was held Thursday for the recently renovated McMahan Student Center at Milligan University.

The renovations began in the summer of 2020, and additions include an outdoor patio, a video wall and an updated bookstore.

These renovations were made possible by Charles and Lane Pyke and their 3CLANE Family Foundation, Inc., which have been supporting Milligan students since 2005. Other initiatives funded by the family and foundation include the Pyke Cottage at the Emmanuel Village and the Neely scholarship for students at Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan University.

“One of the ministry statements that Lane and I personally have is to have a positive impact on everyone with whom we come in contact, and we have used the gifts that God has given us to give back because nothing that we have is ours,” said Charles Pyke.

“God’s timing was perfect, as it always is,” Milligan President Dr. Bill Greer said about the renovations. “Having this added space last year when we needed the capacity to spread students out a bit more was a real blessing. And the space is certainly a blessing to us now.”

During the ceremony, a plaque honoring the 3CLANE Family Foundation was introduced, as well as a new plaque honoring the Pykes by naming the patio space as “Lane’s Landing.”

“We are so grateful for the Pyke family and their foundation for their commitment to our mission,” Greer said. “We are also grateful that your gift to this project is making possible the launch of our mission comprehensive campaign.

“I can think of no better way to launch this exciting effort than in a celebration of a space that focuses on our students and a family whose dedication and leadership is inspiring to me and to those who love and value Milligan and its work in the world.”
