According to Chief Deputy Leighta Laitinen, an Ohio man faces multiple charges after a traffic stop. On Thursday, Sept. 30, deputies attempted a traffic stop on Ricardo Lewis, 43, for a switched tag violation. When officers initiated the traffic stop, Lewis attempted to flee by driving around a house at the 2700 block of Highway 107. Lewis then exited the vehicle and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. K9 Rico then alerted to the vehicle and methamphetamine was located in the vehicle. Deputies also discovered that the vehicle was stolen from the State of Ohio.
Ricardo Lewis now faces charges of motor vehicle theft, simple possession of methamphetamine, evading arrest, driving on revoked license and improper registration. A bond was set at $17,000 and a hearing was set for Thursday, Sept. 30.
