Betty Lou “Mousie” Waters, age 71, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with her Savior, her husband and her son on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. Betty was born in Elizabethton to the late George Thomas Birchfield and Polly Jane Presnell Birchfield. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, whom she had missed dearly, Howard Waters; and her beloved son, Howard Waters, Jr.
Betty was a feisty lady who loved her family and her Lord fiercely. She never backed down from hard work and never failed to give you a smile when she saw you. Betty loved to craft and was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by many!
Those left to cherish Betty’s many wonderful memories include her children, Lisa Price and husband Daniel, Ben Waters and wife Elizabeth and Rebecca Williams; her sister and brothers: Regina Grindstaff, Tommy Coffee and Jimmy Anderson; her grandchildren: Michael and Tiffany Price, Samantha and William Pratt, Benjamin and Pennie Waters, Gracie and John Kline, Domnick Bethel, Bryant O’Bannon, Candance Waters, Elijah Waters, Troy and Candace Williams and Shelby Williams; her great children: Nathaniel Price, Christopher Price, A.J. Price and Nic Price, Kamren Waters, Summer Waters, Ashton Waters, Brinley Waters, Zaiden Waters, Sarah Waters, Sierra Waters and Jaxton Kline; several nieces, nephews and a special family friend, Raymond Williams, also survive.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Betty Lou “Mousie” Waters will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 23, 2021, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Pastor Frank Osborne officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Marty Meadows. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 24, 2021, in the Stout Cemetery on Buck Mountain. Active pallbearers will be Troy Williams, Michael Price, Elijah Waters, Benjamin Waters, Domnick Bethel and John Kline. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Friday.
