The T.A. Dugger Jr. Lady Cyclones welcomed in the Chuckey Doak Jr. Lady Black Knights on Tuesday night for an eventful evening on the soccer pitch.
Directly out of the gates the Cyclones immediately went to work, and their quick start helped propel them for the rest of the game in a dominate 8-0 victory.
Early on, the Cyclones put in an immense amount of pressure winning two corners in the first four minutes of play. A rifled shot from Isabella Lewis forced the Black Knight keeper into action for a big save.
However, in the 6th minute, the Cyclones would get on the board behind a Maddix Morton goal.
Four minutes later, Morton would make it a double with a wonderful curled effort from the top left of the box.
T.A. Dugger continued to retain possession with Chuckey Doak finding it hard to even string together a couple of passes with the Cyclones constant pressure breathing down their necks.
A foul just outside the box would put the Cyclones within striking distance, but the ensuing free kick was saved. Not to worry, Morton was there yet again to make it a very impressive 14-minute hat trick, and just like that the Cyclones led 3-0.
An Isla Grindstaff shot would force a save a few minutes later as the black and orange dominance was unrelenting. The Cyclones hardly allowed the Black Knights past midfield.
In the 19th minute, the Black Knights attempted to clear out a ball from their own box, but Liahna Nave was in the right place at the right time to add a fourth goal for the Cyclones.
A fifth goal from Rylee May would roll off the keeper and in the back of the net before the half and T.A. Dugger went into the break leading 5-0.
The second half saw similar results as Morton and company continued to double down their earlier efforts and continue their all-out assault in the Black Knight goal.
Isabella Lewis was incredibly active down the right wing as most of the play went through her during the second half.
Before the Black Knights had a chance to react, the Cyclones had stacked another couple of goals on top of their tally including another for Morton.
May would add a second goal to her tally in the last few minutes of the match as the Cyclones claimed an 8-0 victory at home and looked like a force to be reckoned with as tournaments arise just around the corner.
