ELIZABETHTON – Monday night volleyball at T.A. Dugger brought an exciting matchup between the Lady Cyclones and the visiting Patriots of Liberty Bell.

The two schools always make for an entertaining matchup as the unspoken Johnson City and Elizabethton rivalry is present. The Cyclones continued their good season with a huge win, 2-0.

Liberty Bell would begin the first set with three consecutive points, but this was about the biggest stretch of success that the Lady Patriots would have the whole evening as shortly after, the Cyclones would go ahead with a Jasy Shell ace.

This was the first of many for T.A Dugger on the night.

Lily Hardin picked up the serve at 11-5 and score six consecutive points including four fantastic aces. Ainsley Wampler would get in on the fun and serve up a couple of aces of her own.

Dominating the set, the Cyclones would close things out with Brooklyn Hurley picking up an ace of her own followed by Kinsley Brittain putting the nail in the coffin with an ace.

The Cyclones took the first set 25-7.

Shell started the second set with a flurry of points including two aces to set the tone early. Piper Kate Bennett got in on the ace party and before long the Cyclones began to build on their lead.

Hardin’s domination while serving would continue in the second set with three more aces herself as the lead ballooned up to 11-4.

Wampler then continued the hot serve for T.A. Dugger with a quick couple of aces and the Cyclones looked absolutely unstoppable.

Whenever the Patriots managed to return the serve, things such as insane diving save from Zyleigh Bates crushed any chance they had.

Liberty Bell hardly heard the gun go off.

With the set winding down, Shell and Hurley would finalize the match with more… you guessed it, aces as the Cyclones wrapped up their absolute master class on serving in two straight sets with a 25-11 win.
