The Elizabethton High School Class of 1969 is planning a tailgate party on Friday, Sept. 24, meeting at the SY/S1 shelter at Sycamore Shoals State Park on West Elk Avenue. Socializing begins at 4 p.m. with the meal at 5 p.m. 
The EHS football game with Anderson County will begin at 7 p.m. for those who desire to attend. Masking at the event is whatever makes you feel safe.
The meal consists of J’s Corner BBQ, beans, slaw and buns at a cost of $7.50 per person, which is payable at the event. Bottled water will be furnished or bring a drink of your choosing. Chips, ice and paper products are provided. There will also be an ice cream truck available to have a dessert.
