Because of the Labor Day holiday Monday, offices at the City of Elizabethton and the Carter County Courthouse will be closed. Also, all state and federal offices will be closed.
In the city, garbage collection for the week of Sept. 6 will be on the following schedule: Monday through Thursday will be collected one day late with Thursday and Friday being collected on Friday.
The Elizabethton Senior Center will be closed as will the Elizabethton-Carter County Library and Elizabethton Star.
Also, Elizabethton City Schools will be closed Monday as will Carter County Schools.
The Elizabethton Post Office will be closed Monday, and there will be no mail delivery.
The Carter County Health Department will be closed Monday but will resume providing drive-through COVID-19 vaccines at the Great Lakes Workforce Development facility each day from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 12:30 to 3 p.m.
This will include vaccines for those who are just beginning their vaccination series as well as the approved third dose of the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine for moderately to severely immunocompromised individuals.
Drive-through nasal swab testing is also available at this site daily from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
