Watauga Valley
The Golden Group of Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church will meet Thursday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m.
There will be singing, a message, and lunch will be served.
Everyone is invited.
The pastor is the Rev. Bill Greer.
Dungan Chapel
Dungan Chapel Baptist Church, Stoney Creek, will have a one-day Vacation Bible School Saturday, July 31. The Bible school will be for all ages, including adults, and will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m.
Activities will include music, Bible study, crafts, and games. The theme of the Bible school is “Make Jesus My Example.”
Registration will be held on the day of the Bible school from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
All are invited.
Oak Grove Christian
The Maggie Kyte Circle of Oak Grove Christian Church will sponsor a sale on Saturday, July 31, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the church pavilion, located at the corner of Powder Branch and Jim Elliott Road.
Items offered will be fresh baked goods, new handiwork and craft items, and many garage sale bargains. Gently used baby clothing will also be available.
All proceeds will be used to support several missions in Elizabethton/Carter County as well as in India and Africa.

Sims Hill Christian
Sims Hill Christian Church will observe homecoming Sunday, Aug. 1, with the service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Coby Jones will present the message.
Because of homecoming there will be no Sunday School or evening service.
A covered dish lunch will follow the service.
Brett Jones is minister.

Elk River Baptist
Elk River Baptist Church, Highway 321, Butler, will celebrate homecoming Aug. 22 with services beginning at 10 a.m.
Following the morning service, a covered dish meal will be served in the fellowship hall.

First Presbyterian
First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will have an online worship service Sunday at 11 a.m.
The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will present the sermon titled “Saying No to Say Yes” based on I Kings 18: 20-39.
Youth and Adult Forums, Wednesday Meditation, and Thursdays With Jesus will meet online this week.
First Christian
An in-person worship service along with a live radio service will be held Sunday at 9:45 a.m. at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. The radio service will be held in the church parking lot and can be heard on 90.5 FM.
The morning worship service will be posTed to Facebook at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Bible school for all ages will follow morning worship.
Weekly Bible studies are offered Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
August 4, a new series of study titled “Twelve Ordinary Men” by John McArthur will begin. “This would be a good time to start coming to Wednesday night services again,” said a church spokesman.
