ECCYBSA completes the season with tournament finals

The Elizabethton-Carter County Youth Baseball Softball Association was busy this week putting the final wrap on a successful season as teams in all divisions played their tournaments.
On Thursday evening at Lions Field, the Roan Street Church of God Orioles picked up their second consecutive league championship with a heart-pumping 9-7 win over a very determined AO Smith Athletics team.
The Athletics jumped out front in the first inning by a 5-0 score but the Orioles remained focused and worked their way back out front thanks to some clutch hitting.
Great sportsmanship was shown by both teams as they closed out the season by gathering for prayer.
In ECCYBSA 7-9 girls softball action, the Lady Ravens knew they were in for a battle with the Lady Hurricanes who had yet to be defeated on the season.
When the dust settled, the Lady Ravens pulled off the shocker by winning a tightly played contest by an 8-6 score.
