James Robert Bischoff, age 59, of Hampton, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, a son of the late Robert Donald Bischoff and Patricia Ann Lalande Bischoff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kristyn Nicole Bischoff. James was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force with 21 years of service. At the time of his death, he was still serving as a Naval Civil Service employee. During his time of service, he received the following decorations and citations; AF Commendation Medal W/2 Bronze OLCS, Meritorious Service Medal W/1 Bronze OLC, National Defense Service Medal W/1 Bronze Star, AF TRNG Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award W/4 Bronze OLCS, AF Organizational Excellence Award W/2 Bronze OLCS, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Master Acquisition and Financial Management Badge, Senior Space Operations Badge, and the Senior Communications and Information Badge. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1847 in Elizabethton, Tennessee. He loved woodworking, traveling, hiking, and scuba diving.    
 
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Katy Bischoff; one son, Justyn Bischoff; brother, Tim Hallberg; and special friends, Mike and Jacquie Magee. 
 
There will be no formal services held.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice, the staff at James H. Quillen VAMC and to Elizabethton Elks Lodge #1847 for all their love and care that was shown.
